TRUE LIFE STORY
Few days ago I came across a young girl who was engaged in a particular menial job.
Now this girl is really famous and is so amazingly pretty that you'll think she'd never have agreed to indulge in this particular kind of job. What really caught my attention is how she put aside all that fame, ego and all and happily worked to sustain herself.
We talked and she said how she overheard some friends mocking her and saying she shouldn't have done such kind of side hustle because she was meant to be "tush". I said to her: Looking all fancy and trying to fake some shiny lifestyle doesn't help anyone to pay bills. You have to swallow the shame and work.
I know as young people we want to feel among by not indulging in certain jobs so as not to be mocked; But being mocked and not begging for food or staying cool and begging the same people who discourage you, choose one. These people who even hold you back won't help you. They'd still mock you for being broke.
Lastly, support your friends hustle. Don't mock them for delving into legit menial jobs that can sustain them. Trust me, everyone is struggling to survive one way or the other, even the so called people who you think have it easy are so struggling.
