Kamamde, who won a prison beauty pageant while awaiting trial, was said to have demonstrated no regret for her activity.
The judge, Jessie Lesiit, while giving the sentence stated:
"I need youngsters to realize that it isn't cool to slaughter your sweetheart or sweetheart even where you feel disillusioned or disappointed – don't do it.
"Rather, it is cool to leave and from that point to excuse."
"I figure passing some other sentence than the one recommended demise would transform the charged into a legend."
Anyway Amnesty International has depicted the judgment as "barbarous, obsolete and harsh."
The human rights association's executive Irungu Houghton stated: "This sentence is a hit to Kenya's dynamic record in driving capital punishments to terms of detainment."
